Dr. Slump is a series by Toriyama Akira, the one and the same creator for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. The series started out in 1980. Arale Norimaki, the female protagonist, is an android created by a "Genius" Senbei Norimaki, who is hopelessly in love with Midori Yamabuki, Arale's junior high school teacher. Not only did Senbei create Arale, he also claims that she is his 13-year-old daughter. Arale possesses superhuman strength and a passion to imitate an airplane. She has the simplicity of a child and loves to run through police cars (reasons unknown). Her great friends, Akana Kimidori, Tarous and Piisuke Soramame, and Gajira (aka Ga-chan) share a daily dose of adventure in their small village known as Penguin Village, on Gengorou Island. Dr. Slump is a cute and yet fantastic anime series that just have you glued to your chair everytime you watch it! Thou shouldn't miss it!
